The MRDF Sabeel Study Retreat Programme is a unique way in which knowledge and cultivation is imparted. You are offered the opportunity to spend a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of your normal life for a weekend of interactive study and nourishment delivered by scholars and students of Knowledge. At the residential retreat you will study Islamic and secular topics in an intensive, unique and proficient way and the retreat aims not only at disseminating knowledge but will insha Allaah also acts as a medium in you receiving cultivation to help make you into well rounded individual who is able to articulate Islam in a modern context and address the unique situation and challenges faced by Muslims across the Globe. Helping spiritual growth is likewise and integral part of the programme.
What is a Study Retreat?
At the retreat you are given the opportunity to spend time with different resident Scholars and students of knowledge eating, sleeping and socializing with them and learning from the classes that are taught. You are provided with handbooks and resources and classes are delivered in an interactive way allowing you the student to gain a deep and comprehensive understanding of important Islamic and secular subjects. The Study Retreat will also allow you to network with others who are present; partake in Quran reading, Discussions, Q&A sessions, Workshops and Team Building sessions.
What is the Format of a Study Retreat?
We believe a Muslim’s development is not only about increasing in knowledge but nourishing the soul. Therefore Sabeel study retreats are normally held over a weekend (2 or 3 days) and require you the participant to be resident spending their time partaking in intensive study sessions, discussions and other activities. Sessions and courses are developed and taught by recognised scholars and students of knowledge. As part of the cultivation programme and brotherhood-building students may be required to partake in various activities such as giving presentations or cooking.

How much will all this cost?
Retreat prices vary depending on the length of the retreat and the cost of the facilities. But at Sabeel we make it an obligation on ourselves to make our retreats and courses as affordable as feasibly possible. We also have a policy that not being able to afford the cost should never deter anyone from attending a retreat - if you find yourself in this situation simply register and notify us of your circumstances and we will do all we can to make it possible for you to attend and benefit insha Allah.
